Home/ House Rewiring

House Rewiring in Cockermouth & Cumbria

J Harper Electrical carries out domestic electrical installations and rewiring for homes and new developments across Cumbria. Our Cockermouth team can discuss a complete rewire, an alteration or electrical work as part of a renovation.

Agree the scope before work begins

Tell us about the property, the reason for the work and any renovation plans. Existing wiring and equipment, proposed lighting and socket positions, access and the intended use of each room all help define the work required.

Planning the installation

Rewiring needs practical planning, particularly in an occupied property. Discuss access, timing and how the work fits with other trades before booking. Ask for any making-good or decoration responsibilities to be set out in the quotation.

Lighting, sockets and consumer units

Our domestic services include new installations and rewires, lighting and socket alterations, consumer units, testing and certification. A survey helps establish which work is appropriate for the property rather than assuming every enquiry needs a full rewire.

Testing and certification

Installation work is supported by testing and certification for the work completed. If you need an assessment of the existing installation, ask about electrical inspection and an EICR.

Request a written quotation

• Installation address and property type.
• Approximate size and whether it is occupied.
• Planned building work and desired timescale.
• Existing reports or known electrical problems.
• Lighting, sockets and other changes you want to discuss.

Final costs depend on the agreed specification and site requirements. We provide a detailed quotation before work begins.
